Marsha Hughes - 8 Weeks 8 Habits

Fitness, Nutrition, Behaviour Change

I’m a 54 year old post-menopausal mother of four and new grandmother! I have been involved in the fitness industry for over thirty years. I understand how overwhelming and exhausting the world of weight loss can be, and how much it can affect your self-confidence and self-esteem. I’ve worked with many clients just like you, with lasting success. During peri-menopause and menopause I struggled with fluctuating weight and a feeling that I was not in control. I didn’t grasp why eating “clean” and grueling training just didn’t do the trick anymore. I wanted to be leaner and stronger. I wanted to slow down the aging process and feel fit and strong. I wanted to avoid injuries that would set me back. Most of all I wanted to feel empowered and comfortable in my own skin. I knew that hormones were playing a huge role in all of this.

I was committed to discovering the most effective exercise and nutrition protocol for hormone optimization. I didn’t want to spend countless hours working out, only to feel frustrated and exhausted – I wanted to have more energy! That’s why I became a Nutrition Coach. I knew exercise wasn’t enough, and that when, what and how we eat are powerful weapons against fat gain, muscle loss and the aging process. I learned in-depth about hormones and their effect on aging, fat storage and muscle preservation. I also discovered a potent exercise protocol that is key to successful and lasting fat loss, and literally reverses your biological age.

I also acquired positive behavioural change techniques to empower my clients to make the necessary changes on their own terms. Changes in the body begin in the mind.

This program is a result of years of study, experience and experimentation, both personally and professionally. It has worked for me and so many of my clients. I am confident that it will work for you too. I give you the recipe, the support, motivation and accountability. The rest is up to you!

8 WEEKS 8 HABITS MENOPAUSE MAKEOVER is a (non-reproduction) hormone rebalancing program with a holistic approach to improve overall well-being, energy and self-confidence. Participants can expect to lose fat, become stronger, develop better eating habits, learn stress management techniques and better cope with menopause symptoms.

Each participant will receive a PDF download with weekly learning lessons and associated action tasks to implement. The BASIC Program includes 60 minutes of personal coaching with me. Additional coaching is always available as an option. Coaching provides personalized recommendations, responses to questions/concerns, potential modifications, accountability and motivation. Coaching will be conducted online via zoom. Each participant will also be invited to join a Private Facebook Group where members may interact with each as part of a supportive, ongoing community.

The Program implements a specific exercise protocol and nutrition strategy to:

  • Naturally increase Human Growth Hormone, the anti-aging hormone responsible for fat burning and muscle preservation.
Growth Hormone also boosts libido and collagen production, important considerations for menopause.
  • Improve insulin sensitivity, crucial for weight management and overall health
  • Reduce inflammation, also key for fat reduction, mobility and vitality

The program also addresses the importance of Good Sleep Hygiene and Stress Management to:

  • Rebalance the hunger and satiety hormones – ghrelin and leptin
  • Manage cortisol, the stress hormone

I am so looking forward to helping women retake control of their bodies and reclaiming the energy, vitality and joy they all deserve!

Ravina Thomas - Functional Medicine

FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE HEALTH PRACTITIONER, WELLBEING COACH & EDUCATOR

Ravina Thomas is an educator and a functional medicine health practitioner who helps you empower you to regain your potential – emotionally, physically and spiritually.

EDUCATION
B.ED, M.ED, Functional Medicine Practitioner Certification

Ravina has over 25 years of teaching experience within the public school system in Ontario, Canada and took advantage of an opportunity to move to Barbados. Ravina decided to use that gift of time to take her health into her hands with the hope to heal her hormonal imbalances. With a passion for learning she began her journey to train as a functional medicine practitioner. She was not only able to heal her own hormonal issues but began to educate other women about how to get to the root of their issues. Today she helps others to educate, inspire and transform them in their quest for wellness and health during the phases of menopause. She recognizes the void of the education around this and the options for women in this phase of their lives and the need for required intervention.

Functional Medicine is an approach to healthcare that focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of illness and disease, rather than just treating symptoms. It takes a holistic view of the body and recognizes the interconnectedness of all systems and processes.
Her goal is to restore balance and function to your body, optimising health and preventing disease while integrating both conventional and alternative medical approaches for personalised client care.

Ravina accompanies you on your health journey and serves as your personal guide to empower you by educating you on symptoms you may be experiencing from a biochemical perspective. She offers non-hormonal practical tools and strategies that you can put into action in your life. Ravina has successfully run several programs and retreats with a variety of clients covering topics such as sleep, hot flashes, changes in menopause, how to eat for immunity, dealing with the menobelly and anxiety and depression through menopause.
